Discipleship that grows…
Our grand daughter has finally reached the level of development where she would rather not eat unless she is allowed to feed herself. Praise God for growth and development!
Hearing from others what they have gleaned from study of the Word is good, and wholesome for every disciple—like a child growing from the nutrients of milk every disciple needs a role model, a mentor, someone to assist in understanding the ways of God—but meat comes through dependence in Christ alone. Being able and allowed to feed one’s self and receive the experiential knowledge gleaned from application and obedience, it is the essential ingredient to maturity.
Listening and obeying the Holy Spirit causes the transformation of the natural into the spiritual and to hear first hand from God by the presence and power of The Holy Spirit is the will and the way of the Father. It cannot be short changed, circumvented or diluted without dangerous and eternal ramifications.
“This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go”
The strength that is necessary for these last days cannot be secured by man’s teaching. Jesus Himself said, “The Counselor The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. “John echoes the amen when he said, “As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
Remaining IN Christ is not just the place of hearing His voice but it is the power of ‘doing’ all He says without which we become faint of hearing and hard of heart.
Life is too volatile to risk a different location other than dwelling in His house and hearing His voice. This is the goal and the glory of being His child to Journey To Deeper Intimacy with the one who died for you.
Disciple of Christ—are you hearing His voice?
