The Promise of Restoration
The Word of the Lord through Jeremiah 32:36-44
The land was in shambles—the people were under siege, “By the sword, famine and plague…” Through enemy attack, economic failure, and all manner of sickness—sounds like today!
The sin cycle in Israel had made a full circle and God’s people were back in bondage—will we ever learn? New Testament or Old—for God’s people disobedience brings the same results—bondage—its cause and effect!
BUT GOD…then and now says,
I am your SAFETY: “I will surely gather them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety”. Trials and tribulations cause man to turn back to God, to seek the One they have drifted away from. Those not knowing God see the light of His presence shining through those returning to their God and Salvation is seen in the land!
I am your SANCTIFICATION: “I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me for their own good and the good of their children after them.”
An undivided heart because a double minded man is unstable in all his ways and cannot receive what God has in store for them or for their children. But the blessing of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is for the generations when fathers and mothers turned back to God.
I am your SECURITY: “I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.” Fear—an overwhelming gratitude for the grace of a good and loving God who is willing to reach even to the uttermost and gather His children to Himself.
I am your SOLUTION: “I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul” In ‘this land’—‘this land’ the place and land that God has planted you. God’s Word has veto authority over all governments, every enemy, in every place. For those He gathers together He says, “I will give them all the prosperity I have promised them”
I am your SUCCESS: “…Once more fields will be bought in this land of which you say, ‘It is a desolate waste, without men or animals…” Our land is under siege by those who do not know God—have rejected Jesus Christ—even those who have heard the Gospel for many years fail to accept or SUBMIT to His Lordship.
I am your RESTORATION: “I will restore their fortunes, declares the Lord! “ When there is restored heart surrender to God then external fortunes shall be restored.
To know the GOODNESS of God He must first be GOD—get rid of all other God’s and run to the one true God. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” [2Chronicles 7:14]
Pray the prayer of surrender today:
Father I have sinned—I have walked afar off and rejected your Living Word. Forgive me Lord; create within me a pure heart and an upright spirit. Fill me with the knowledge of your presence and use me for your Glory. Have mercy and heal our land Lord and bring revival beginning in my heart, my home, my family, my city and let it spread throughout this Nation. Amen.
